Während Inge Mahns (geb. 1943 Cieszyn / Polen, gest.

The exhibition combines old and new works by the three artists. The interface of the three artistic positions lies in the profound sculptural examination of topics such as the location of the human subject through architecture and nature as well as housing and the fragility of living conditions.
While Inge Mahn’s (born 1943 Cieszyn / Poland, died 2023 Berlin) oeuvre is largely based on the consistent use of white plaster as a construction material, Rachel Kohn (born 1962 Prague, lives and works in Berlin) and Christiane Wartenberg (born 1948 Magdeburg, lives and works in the Oderbruch) often rely on clay for their sculptures and the production of sculptural objects.
However, not only the materiality, but also the form and imagery differ, despite all the obvious similarities. Therefore, the exhibition aims to connect both the work/theme development of the respective artist as well as the analogies and differences between those positions along the thematic complex of imaginary dwellings, landscapes and desires.
