DESCRIPTION:  \njump to english version  \n  \nDie Stadtpromenade – einst pulsierendes Zentrum von Cottbus/Chóśebuz\, heute Projektionsfläche von Erinnerungen\, Debatten und Visionen. Kaum ein anderer Ort der Stadt erzählt so verdichtet von Aufbruch und Wandel\, von Sehnsucht und Enttäuschung. Vom mittelalterlichen Befestigungsring über die Luckauer Vorstadt und das sozialistische Stadtzentrum bis hin zu aktuellen Fragen nach Identität und Zukunft spiegelt sie eindrucksvoll die gesellschaftlichen\, politischen und kulturellen Veränderungen der Stadt wider. Das Gemeinschaftswerk „Kaleidoskop Stadtpromenade“ lädt dazu ein\, diesen besonderen Ort im Herzen von Cottbus/ Chóśebuz neu zu entdecken. Sowohl die Ausstellung im BLMK als auch das umfassende Erinnerungsbuch zeigen ein facettenreiches Bild der Promenade: Sie erzählen vom Flanieren und Verweilen\, von Handel und Vergnügen\, von politischer Inszenierung und privatem Alltag. Die Spurensuche führt zu Festen und Protesten\, zu ikonischen Orten wie dem Konsument-Warenhaus\, der Milch-Mokka-Bar „Kosmos“ oder dem Hotel „Lausitz“\, und zu großen Fragen der Nachwendezeit. Historische Dokumente\, Fotografien und vor allem persönliche Erinnerungen – gesammelt in Briefen\, Interviews und Bildern – verweben sich zu einem vielstimmigen Panorama. Wie in einem Kaleidoskop entstehen aus den einzelnen Fragmenten neue Muster\, die das Bild der Stadtpromenade stetig neu zusammensetzen. \n  \nDie Ausstellung kann bei freiem Eintritt besucht werden. \n  \nAusstellungskonzept und Publikation \n\n  \n  \n  \n  \nEine Kooperation mit \n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nGefördert durch \n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n\n…\nThe city promenade – once the vibrant center of Cottbus/Chóśebuz\, today a projection screen for memories\, debates\, and visions. Hardly any other place in the city tells such a condensed story of awakening and change\, of longing and disappointment. From the medieval fortifications to the Luckau suburb and the socialist city center\, to current questions of identity and the future\, it impressively reflects the city’s social\, political\, and cultural changes. The collaborative project „Kaleidoscope City Promenade“ invites visitors to rediscover this special place in the heart of Cottbus/Chóśebuz. Both the exhibition at the BLMK and the comprehensive commemorative book paint a multifaceted picture of the promenade: They tell of strolling and lingering\, of trade and pleasure\, of political staging and private everyday life. The search for traces leads to festivals and protests\, to iconic locations such as the Konsum department store\, the „Kosmos“ milk and mocha bar\, and the „Lausitz“ Hotel\, and to major questions of the post-reunification era. Historical documents\, photographs\, and above all personal memories—collected in letters\, interviews\, and pictures—interweave into a multifaceted panorama. Like a kaleidoscope\, new patterns emerge from the individual fragments\, constantly reconstructing the image of the city promenade. „Kaleidoscope City Promenade“ is a collective retrospective\, compiled by the people of Lusatia and from the city’s archives.
