DESCRIPTION:Ausstellung verlängert bis zum 18.2.2024 \n  \njump to english version  \n  \nDas Œuvre beider Künstlerinnen ist im Frühwerk durch Bildexperimente gekennzeichnet\, die vielfach auf der Collage bzw. der Fotomontage beruhen. Hierfür bedienen sich Höch ebenso wie Hoepffner Bildtechniken\, die Einzelelemente und Versatzstücke unterschiedlicher Herkunft zu Bilderzählungen zusammenfügen. Das Spätwerk beider Künstlerinnen\nhingegen ist weniger bekannt. Bei beiden lässt sich eine Veränderung im Formenvokabular erkennen: die Hinwendung\nzu figürlichen Bildformen bei Hannah Höch\, zur eher abstrakten Bildsprache bei Marta Hoepffner. \n  \nRebellisch\, spaßig\, bissig – das sind Adjektive\, mit der die Arbeit von Hannah Höch (geb. 1889 Gotha\, gest. 1978\nWest-Berlin) oft beschrieben werden. In einer Zeit\, die von zwei Weltkriegen und nachhaltigen politischen Veränderungen gekennzeichnet war\, hat Höch als eine der wichtigsten Avantgardekünstlerinnen des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts und als Pionierin der Collagekunst zu neuem Denken und neuen Sichtweisen aufgefordert. Geradezu legendär sind ihre frühen\, dem Dadaismus zuzurechnenden politik- und gesellschaftskritischen Bilder\, die einen satirischen\, gleichwohl poetischen Blick auf die Welt und das menschliche Treiben werfen. \n  \nMarta Hoepffner (geb.1912\, gest. 2000 Lindenberg) schuf mit ihrem experimentell ausgerichteten Werk einen bedeutenden Beitrag zur Entwicklung der künstlerischen Fotografie des 20. Jahrhunderts. Erste Schaffensimpulse\nerhielt die Künstlerin innerhalb der Familie durch den Dadaisten Hugo Ball. Bekannt wurde Hoepffner durch kameralose Fotografien und abstrakt-symbolische Arbeiten sowie durch ihre\, die Grenzen der Fotografie überschreitenden\, variochromatischen Lichtobjekte. \n\n…\nThe cabinet exhibition combines the previously little-known late works of Hannah Höch and Marta Hoepffner\, in which a change in the formal vocabulary of the two artists can be seen. The exhibition aims to present the modernity of the artistic view of realities and everyday worlds on the one hand\, but also the increasing influence of the abstract in Hannah Höch and Marta Hoepffner’s work after 1945. \n  \nThe oeuvre of both artists is characterized by image experiments in their early work\, which are often based on collage or photomontage. For this purpose\, Höch and Hoepffner used image techniques that combined individual elements and set pieces from different origins to create image narratives. The late work of both artists\, however\, is less well known. A change in the formal vocabulary can be seen in both: the turn to figurative image forms in Hannah Höch\, and towards more abstract imagery in Marta Hoepffner. \n  \nRebellious\, fun\, biting – these are adjectives that are often used to describe the work of Hannah Höch (born 1889 Gotha\, died 1978 West Berlin). In a time marked by two world wars and lasting political changes\, Höch\, as one of the most important avant-garde artists of the early 20th century and a pioneer of collage art\, called for new thinking and new perspectives. Her early political and socially critical images\, which can be attributed to Dadaism\, are downright legendary and cast a satirical\, yet poetic look at the world and human activity. \n  \nMarta Hoepffner (born 1912\, died 2000 Lindenberg) made a significant contribution to the development of artistic photography in the 20th century with her experimentally oriented work. The artist received her first creative impulses within her family from the Dadaist Hugo Ball. Hoepffner became known for her cameraless photographs and abstract-symbolic works as well as her variochromatic light objects that transcended the boundaries of photography.
