DESCRIPTION:jump to english version  \n  \nDie Ausstellung verknüpft Werke der in Tallinn aufgewachsenen Fotografin Anna Lehespalu und des aus Brandenburg stammenden Fotografen Alexander Janetzko miteinander. Sämtliche präsentierten Bilder sind im Rahmen eines Residenzprogramms in Tallinn bzw. Cottbus im Winter 2023 entstanden. \nBeide Fotograf*innen erschlossen sich mittels Kamera die ihnen jeweils unbekannte Stadtlandschaft. Die so entstandenen Fotografien sind künstlerische Zeugnisse von individuellen Prozessen sich Zugänge zu neuen Umgebungen und Situationen zu eröffnen\, indem die Blicke zunächst das (vermeintlich) Vertraute im Unbekannten suchen. \nBei aller Unterschiedlichkeit der Bildkonzepte ist hierbei augenfällig\, dass die Annäherungen beider Künstler*innen über ähnliche Sujets erfolgen und hierbei die latente Fremdheit sowie die damit einhergehende Distanz Eingang in die\nFotografien finden. So werden Menschen in der Regel mit einem gewissen Abstand\, nie jedoch aus unmittelbarer Nähe aufgenommen. Häufig sind Fenster und Scheiben\, die fast unsichtbare Trennungen zwischen unterschiedlichen Räumen und Menschen oder auch Innen und Außen markieren\, substantielle Bildelemente. \n  \nDas Residenzprogramm und die Ausstellung sind als Teil des Programms „Deutscher Frühling in Estland“ in Kooperation mit dem Juhan Kuus Documentary Photo Centre\, Tallinn sowie dem Goethe-Institut Tallinn entstanden. Die Realisierung des gesamten Projektes wurde unterstützt durch das Ministerium der Finanzen und für Europa des Landes Brandenburg. \n  \n\n		\n\n\n…\nThe exhibition combines works by the photographer Anna Lehespalu\, who grew up in Tallinn\, and the Brandenburg photographer Alexander Janetzko. All images presented were created as part of a residency program in Talinn and Cottbus in winter 2023. \n  \nBoth photographers used cameras to explore the city landscape\, which was unknown to them. The photographs created in this way are artistic evidence of individual processes of opening up access to new environments and situations by first looking for the (supposedly) familiar in the unknown. Despite the differences in the image concepts\, it is clear that both artists approach their new environments using similar subjects and that the latent strangeness and the associated distance find their way into the photographs. People are usually photographed from a certain distance\, but never from close proximity. Windows and panes\, which mark almost invisible separations between different rooms and people or inside and outside\, are often substantial image elements. The exhibition bears witness to changes of perspective on aesthetic and cultural experiences of strangeness\, whose artistic interface\, however\, is always established through the search for the familiar. \n  \nThe residency program and the exhibition were created as part of the “German Spring in Estonia” program in cooperation with the Juhan Kuus Documentary Photo Centre\, Tallinn and the Goethe-Institut Tallinn. The realization of the entire project was supported by the Ministry of Finance and Europe of the state of Brandenburg. \n
